Jackery announced the Explorer 100D, a portable power station that uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. The company calls it its smallest power station to date. It measures 4.6 by 3.4 by 3.4 inches and weighs 1.87 pounds. Its 96Wh (30,000mAh) capacity is meant to power multiple devices on a long flight, according to the report.
The 100D will be sold through Walmart starting November 15 for $99. Costco already sells it, but only as a two-pack for $179.99, the report says.
Jackery says the LFP cells are "engineered for up to 8 years of regular use" and rated for 3,000 charge cycles. The report says this should let the unit outlast competing products that use more common lithium-ion cells, though it does not compare specific models.
The front has two 140W USB-C ports and one 18W USB-A port. The unit's total output is 158W, so power drops across the ports when all three are in use. It accepts up to 100W of direct solar input, which the report says can charge it to 80 percent in about an hour and a half.
